The Why…

I started Native Rambler to make sense of where I’ve been and who I’m becoming, some of it in the field, some of it in the quiet in between.

The American Field Guide is where I write about what I see, wildlife, landscapes, and the lessons they carry.

In the Margins is where the rest lives, poems, fragments, and what doesn’t fit anywhere else.

From the Field is where you can see life through my eyes,
Some of those images are available as prints.

For a long time, I thought living a life as an adventurer was not a reality. This is the perfect place to follow that journey as I figure it all out.

Becoming a field guide was something I had imagined for years.
Choosing it and stepping into it was something else entirely.

I’m still learning how to do hard things,
to be afraid, and to do it anyway.

Thank you for following along. Let’s go somewhere WILD!
